DANCE ON NEW YEAR’S EVE. A free-for-all dance was held in the Tangarakau hell on December 31. A large attendance enjoyed a jolly dance and appreciated a few items given by local talent. Mrs. J. Stark played the music. Items were presented by Mr. G. Mallet, recitation; Mrs. Murphy, song; Messrs. M. Walsh and H. Slight, recitation; Mr. P. Walsh, recitation; Mr. Miller, song; Mrs. Mallet, song. Mr. Mallet was master of ceremonies. A haka party led by Mr. Jim . Savage and his orchestra visited Whangamomona to attend the New Year’s Eve dance. Mr. R. McCartie visited Auckland foj> his annual holidays. Mr. D. Kerr visited Wellington last week-end. Miss Joan Mouton, Whangamomona. was at Tangarakau on Thursday. . Mr. V. Deal is the guest of Mr. M. Nelson. Mr. Gordon Nelson spent Christmas on the beach at Ngatimaru. . - '7"
