By Telegraph-Press Association. Gisborne, January 3. Traffic in the Waioeka Valley was held up yesterday afternoon by swollen streams. As many as 33 cars were counted at one point Most motorists turned back and used the Motu Hilts route, but ten spent the night on the road. Service cars got through without difficulty. Rakauroa reports 4.58 inches of rainfall in the 24 hours to 9 a.m. to-day. The mountain streams are running high m .the Motu district.
