FEATHERWEIGHT BOXING
RAYNER DEFEATS KNUCKEY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Jan. 2. In a professional boxing contest for the featherweight championship Clarrie Rayner, Blenheim (8.91), retained the title against Len Knuckey, Hastings (8.8 J Knuckey being knocked out four seconds before the end of the eighth round. He was unable to come back for the ninth round. The bout was not spectacular, the holder letting Knuckey make the fight while he waited for the opportunity to land a knockout. The house was a poor one.
