PERSONAL AND GENERAL. Judging by the large numbers of cars loaded with camping gear that are passing through the Strathmore district many people are spending their .holidays motoring and camping in the backblocks of Taranaki. The rain which fell during the weekend was welcomed by all farmers ait the milk supply had decreased considerably. Harvesting operations are now in full swing, many farmers having already saved their winter supplies. Mrs. J. Garlick had a fortunate escape from serious injury on Monday morning when she was thrown from her gig. She received a severe shaking and has been confined to her bed since. Mr. C. O’Neil is in a Stratford private hospital. Mrs. Coles is spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. C. O’Neil, Te Wera. Mr. and Mrs. K. Hight spent Christmas with Mr. C. Simmons,- Te Wera. Mr. and Mrs. E. Blair and family spending . the holidays with Mrs. Blair senr., Ngaere. Mr. S. Gall visited his father, Mr. M. Gall, Brewer Road, during the Christmas holidays. Mr. R. Worthington returned home for the Christmas holidays. Mr. Carrol Coulton’s small son was badly burnt about the face and was removed to the Stratford hospital on Saturday last. Mr. C. Meek and Mr. F. Immenrod motored to New Plymouth to attend the Christmas' race meeting. PUKENGAHU PERSONAL NEWS. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rae, Wingrove Road. Miss Mary Bremer is visiting New Plymouth. Miss E. McGonnell is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. G. Y. Ansley, Mangatoki, is spending a week's holiday at Wharehuia. GENERAL ITEMS. Stratford Polo Team. The following will represent the Stratford Swimming Club in the first water polo competition match for the Dalgleish Cup at New Plymouth tonight: R. Grace, J. Ryan, B. Lonsdale, A. Robson, R. Girling, W. Penman, J. Osmond; emergency, F. Wickham. PERSONAL ITEMS. Masters Bazil and Leslie Foley, Wellington, are staying with their aunt, Mrs. W. Clark, Stratford.
