DISCOVERY MADE BY DIVER. CORAMBA DISASTER RECALLED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright. MelbournexDec. 28. The hull of the coastal steamer Coramba, which foundered with all hands, has been found by a Melbourne diver in 20 fathoms of water about 1* miles west of Seal Rocks, Phillip Island. It is stated that the water is too deep to make salvage possible. The complete crew of 17 of the steamer perished at the height of a storm on November 29 in the vicinity of Newhaven, Phillip Island. Two bodies, together with a lifebelt bearing the name Coramba were washed up on the beach in that locality. It is believed that the Coramba ran out of fuel while struggling to reach Westernport. Quantities of wreckage, two lifeboats and the ship s bell were washed ashore at Newhaven. Most of the members of the Coramba’s crew were married. Among the victims were two of the survivors of the Casino, which foundered in Apollo Bay three years ago and which the Coramba replaced.
