PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. The draw for the fifth round of the Kaponga Bowling Club’s competitions is: Singles: Hammersley v. Williams, Carrington' v. Tyack, Libeau a bye. Pairs: Taylor v. Carrington, Champtaloup v. Bennie, Espiner v. Libeau, Palmer v. Jones, byes, A. W. Anderson and McGregor. ; Mr. Leslie O’Connell, Waipukurau, is spending a holiday as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Donoghue. Mr. and Mrs. A. Melville visited Palmerston North and Wanganui during the Christmas holidays. The almost tropical downpour which was experienced on Boxing Day afternoon was very beneficial to gardens and pastures alike, the ground retaining much moisture.
