HASTINGS TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP. CLOSE MATCH IN DOUBLES FINAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. There has been glorious weather for the Hastings tennis championships which have been in progress for three days. The following finals were played this, afternoon: — , Men’s singles: N. R. C. Wilson (Hastings) beat R. D. Sharpe ■ (Hastings), 6—l, 6—2; Women’s singles: Mrs. Milburn (Hawkes Bay) beat Miss M. Budd (Hastings), 6—3, 3 —6, 6—o. .. Men’s doubles: N. R. C. Wilson. (Hastings). and E. F. Page (Wellington) beat D. Ritchie and J. D. Ormond (Waipukurau), 6—3, 3—6, 6—3. Women’s doubles: Mesdames Cotterill (Hastings) and Milburn (Hawkes Bay) • beat Misses Glenny (Hastings) and Hickes (Napier), 6—5, 6—l. SOUTHLAND TOURNAMENT. CONCLUSION OF EVENT. Invercargill, Last Night The Southland Tennis Association’s Christmas tournament was concluded today. Championship finals played to-day resulted:— Women's singles: Miss D. Baikie (North Otago) defeated Miss M. Reid (Invercargill), B—6, 6—4. Men’s doubles: G. Pearce and J. Rawlinson (Dunedin) defeated L. Cokerill and R. McCallum (Invercargill), 7—5, 9 —'ll, 6—2, 8—6.. , MARLBOROUGH TOURNAMENT. RESULTS OF FINAL EVENTS. Blenheim, December 28.
