There has been glorious weather for the Hastings tennis championships which have been in progress for three days. The following finals were played this, afternoon: — , Men’s singles: N. R. C. Wilson (Hastings) beat R. D. Sharpe ■ (Hastings), 6—l, 6—2; Women’s singles: Mrs. Milburn (Hawkes Bay) beat Miss M. Budd (Hastings), 6—3, 3 —6, 6—o. .. Men’s doubles: N. R. C. Wilson. (Hastings). and E. F. Page (Wellington) beat D. Ritchie and J. D. Ormond (Waipukurau), 6—3, 3—6, 6—3. Women’s doubles: Mesdames Cotterill (Hastings) and Milburn (Hawkes Bay) • beat Misses Glenny (Hastings) and Hickes (Napier), 6—5, 6—l. SOUTHLAND TOURNAMENT. CONCLUSION OF EVENT. Invercargill, Last Night The Southland Tennis Association’s Christmas tournament was concluded today. Championship finals played to-day resulted:— Women's singles: Miss D. Baikie (North Otago) defeated Miss M. Reid (Invercargill), B—6, 6—4. Men’s doubles: G. Pearce and J. Rawlinson (Dunedin) defeated L. Cokerill and R. McCallum (Invercargill), 7—5, 9 —'ll, 6—2, 8—6.. , MARLBOROUGH TOURNAMENT. RESULTS OF FINAL EVENTS. Blenheim, December 28.
