CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL GAMES. RAIN CAUSES SOME DELAYS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night The Southland Tennis Association’s annual tournament was, with the exception of the final of the men’s doubles and women’s singles, concluded to-day. Rain at intervals caused delays. The championship finals resulted:— Men’s singles: G. Pearce (Dunedin) beat R. McCallum (Invercargill) 7—5, 9-7, 2-6, 3-6, 6—3. Boys’ singles: L. Gray beat C. Breen 6 —l, 6—4. Women’s doubles: Misses Weavers and Baikie (North Otago) defeated Misses Rein and Cutt (Invercargill) 9—4. Girls’ singles: Miss J. Lamon beat Miss J. Kelly 9-1.
