TROOPS FOR THE SAAR

WARM FRENCH WELCOME ; ' / MAIN BODY SOON TO SAIL ITALIANS PREPARING REVIEW BY MUSSOLINI British Wireless. Rugby, Dec. 20. A further party of British troops arrived in the Saar yesterday. They were a detachment of officers and 40 of the East Lancashire Regiment. A similar party of the Essex Regiment reached Saarbrucken this morning and proceeded immediately to quarters at Brebach and Grubeheinitz. Over 100 of the Army Service Corps and the Medical Corps personnel arrived by the same train and remained at Saarbrucken.

The troops received a most cordial welcome from the French civil and military authorities on their journey across France. They took breakfast as the guests of the French army at Thionville.

The main body of the infantry comprising the British part of the international force will leave England to-mor-row and will be accorded an official reception on landing at Calais early in the afternoon.

The Italian troops for the Saar were reviewed by Signor Mussolini at Rome yesterday and one battalion left in the evening.
