NORTH TARANAKI TO PLAY SOUTH GAME AT NEW PLYMOUTH TO-DAY. The annual cricket match between North and South Taranaki, set down for Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, to-day, has aroused more interest than usual. The Graham Cup is the primary consideration, but-the match will also serve as a guide to Hawke Cup selectors. Both divisions have brought powerful batting teams, and whatever happens the scoring should be free throughout the seven and a-quarter hours of play. Northern practices held on Wednesday and Thursday were Very satisfactory. N. Giddy, the country representative, was present on the first night, and Parkinson, who has recovered from his accident, curtailed his holiday at Mokau to obtain bowling practice yesterday. The eleven as selected are all available. J. Birch will be in his customary position as wipket-keeper, and C. Lash has been elected captain. Eight, bf the northern division team played in one or more Hawke Cup matches last season. S. A. Lay, Stratford, is not available for the South side and his place has been taken by R. Lendrum, Power Board, C. R. Sturrock, another of the reserves, also being unavailable. Mr. 'W. D. Graham, donor of the trophy, will make the presentation on the ground' immediately after play ceases. The teams are:— North: C. Lash (captain), E. Christensen, J. Birch (Old Boys), H. Davison, O. Nasmith (New Plymouth), M. Donnelly, T. Larkin, N. Waters (High School), A. Ewart, V. Parkinson (Western Park), N. Giddy (Tarurutangi). South: W. Barker (Old Boys), H. Barker (Old Boys), R. Duke (Old Boys), R. Thrush (Old Boys), S. Betts (Kaponga), W. Dormer (Kaponga), Ross Eden (Kaponga), Reg. Eden (Kaponga), Walker (Stratford), Barlow (Stratford), R. Lendrum (Power Board). Reserves: V. Betts and R. Court (Kaponga). The umpires are Messrs. A. C. Hammond (Wellington) and L. A.- Jennings (Hawera). Play will commence at 10 a.m., and the luncheon adjournment will be from 12.45 to 1.45. * MOKAU WINS BY 76 RUNS. MATCH AGAINST MOHAKATINO. Mokau and Mohakatino cricket, teams met at the Mokau oval in the week-end, Mokau. winning a one-innings match by 76 ruhs.
