COOKS AND STEWARDS’ WAGES. AGREEMENT REACHED THIS WEEK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.. Half of the 10 per cent, reduction in wages has been restored to the cooks and stewards of the Union Steam Ship Company and to those on the Shell Company’s Paua and the Westport Coal Company’s Canopus. This is in. pursuance of an agreement reached this week. The increase is retrospective to December 1 and the Marama, which left Auckland yesterday for Sydney, is the first vessel on which the restoration will become effective.
