The sum of almcst £50,000 is being distributed among relief workers in the Auckland metropolitan area this week. It comprises pay for the week’s work just completed, two weeks’ holiday pay, and an extra week’s pay as a Christmas bonus. The men are receiving from £4 to £7 each, but they will not receive any more for three weeks.
