TRAM AGREEMENT

CHRISTCHURCH PAY INCREASE. BOARD RATIFICATION WANTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Under agreements which have been negotiated between the Tramways Union and the Tramway Board, employees will receive increases in wages ranging from 5 per cent, for the traffic staff to 7 J per cent, for permanent way men. Men on the engineering staff will also benefit. The agreement has been concluded, but has not yet been approved by the full board, and until the agreement is approved details are not being divulged. There is no doubt, however, that the board will ratify .the agreement
