Mr. L. Carey, chairman of directors of the Okato Dairy Company has been ordered to Rotorua for medical treatment.
Mr. W. A. loms, chairman of the .New Zealand Dairy Board, has returned to Wellington after a health-recruiting trip in Australia.
Sir Maurice Hankey, secretary to the Imperial Committee of Defence, and Lady Hankey left Wellington by the Maunganui on Tuesday en route to England.
Mr. J. S. Coster, formerly manager of the Union Steam Ship Company’s office at Apia, left Wellington on Tuesday' by the Maunganui for Papeete, where he will be manager. He is accompanied by Mrs. Coster.
The Hon. Phillip Collier, M.L.A., Premier of Western Australia, who has been visiting New Plymouth during the course of a health trip with his secretary, Mr. H. R. Doig, left for Wellington yesterday morning. Mr. P. C. Minns, 1930 Rhodes scholar, expects to join the administration of Uganda Protectorate in the middle of 1935, after taking a preparatory course at Oxford extending over three terms, states the New Zealand News. During the coming winter he will be playing a good deal of Rugby for Blackheath. Messrs. J. Packer, Christchurch, and F. E. Hutchinson, Melbourne, have been appointed delegates from the Philosophical Institute of Canterbury to the meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science to be held at Melbourne in January. The appointments were announced in the annual report of the institute to be presented at the annual meeting on December 5.
