TENNIS AT AWAKINO
GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. The Awakino tennis courts were opened on Sunday in perfect weather. Visitors were present from Mahoenui, Mokau, Tongaporutu and' Mohakatino. Afternoon tea was provided by the women’s committee and play was continued until late.
A card evening taking the form of progressive five hundred was given by Mrs. A. C. Richards on Friday. Tire proceeds went to augment the funds of the Tainui Tennis Club. Winners of th.e prizes were Mrs. H. J. Gray and Mr. J. K. Black. < .
Mr. F. King, Miss F. King and Miss M. Calvert motored to the Stratford show last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gray, Hamilton, are the guests of Mrs. H. Gray. Miss Rutherfurd is the guest of Mrs. C. Westfield. Mr. H. Northern and Miss Northern motored to Cambridge for the week-end. Miss M. Ferguson, Waitara, spent last week-end with Mrs. N. Bryant. Mr. and Mrs. C. Ordish, Waikawau, are spending a week at New Plymouth.Mr. and Mrs. G. Richards spent last week-end at Te Kuiti.
Mrs. A. C. Richards is the guest of Mrs. M. Lyall, “Onetae.” .
