WOMEN’S DIVISION

Kent Road: The final meeting for this year was held on November 22, it being decided not to meet next month because of harvesting and Christmas. In the junior competition for a buttonhole worked in calico Miss K. Wasley was placed first, and in the senior for gingerbread Mrs. G. Yeates was first. The afternoon was spent in sewing peggy squares for cot quilts. Mrs. G. Yeates and Miss G. Southcombe were hostesses.

Smart Road: The monthly meeting was held at the residence of Mrs. Hawkings on Wednesday last. The president reported on the business discussed at the provincial executive. A competition for Madeira cake was wOn by Mrs. T. Martin. There were seven entries and ali were very good. A demonstration was given on rubber tube articles, some attractive bags being made. Members who contributed clothing and toys for backblock children achieved an excellent result considering the small membership. Mrs, J. and Miss Hawkings were hostesses.
