UNITED STATES’ STRONG PROTEST.
“INCREASING DISCRIMNATION.” £
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 6.45 p.m. Washington, Nov. 24. The Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull issued without comment to-day a Note to the Ambassador at Berlin, Mr. Dodd, who delivered it to the German Government, strongly protesting against “increasing discrimination” against American holders of Reich bonds. Mr. Hull declared that while Germany agreed to pay an aggregate of 76.9 per cent, of interest on long-term obligations other than reparation loans only 30 per cent, specified in cash had been paid, while no machinery had been set up to pay the scrip portion. Again, it was pointed out, some foreign debtors received a per centum compensation.
