NEW M.C.C. RULINGS
L.B.W. RULE’S MODIFICATION. EFFECT ON BODY-LINE ATTACK. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. London, Nov. 24. The Observer, commenting on the M.C.C. leg-theory and l.b.w. rulings says the bowler, who has the chance restored to him of taking wickets with a break from the off, will have less need to elaborate his tactics upon the other side. This chance will probably make superfluous the concurrent ban on the “direct attack of the bowler upon the batsman,” a method which no English bowler of eminence has been known to employ.
