DAIRY PROPOSALS

SUGGESTIONS BY HAWKE’S BAY.

WARD CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night.

A ward conference of dairy farmers held here to-day passed motions favouring the producers’ representatives on the Executive Commission of Agriculture being nominees of the Dairy and Meat Boards, recommending that the elected members of the Dairy Board be increased by one and the Government nominees reduced accordingly, recommending that the Dairy Board urge upon the Government the necessity of subsidising the price of butter-fat to dairy producers to an extent to enable the industry to carry on, and that immediate steps be taken to reduce farm costs, a finance corporation to be brought into force immediately with that object.
