At the Rawene Court yesterday Puhiri Riwhi, aged 33, was committed for trial on a charge of murdering Taui Henare Riwhi at Waiotemarama on September 24. , . The evidence showed that during a quarrel Puhiri struck Taui with a spade on the head and arm. Taui made good progress in hospital for several days until the appearance of gas gangrene made amputation necessary. Dr. Smith in cross-examination said that but for the gangrene Taui would have recovered
