Edouard Joubert, consul for France, the French Minister of National Education has conferred the distinction of Officer of Public Instruction on Mr. F. W. Reed, Whangarei, author of numerous original works on Alexandre Dumas. . >• . Mr. Reed possesses in his home at Whangarei the most important collection in British countries of works and editions relating to Dumas.
