STOCK EXCHANGES

COMPANY COMMISSION REPORT.

EXPRESSION OF SATISFACTION.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, November 23.

At the annual conference of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand Mr. Bucholtz was asked to accept the position of president for a further 12 months, and did so. Mr. Kitson (Christchurch) ■ was appointed vice-president. Among matters dealt with was consideration of the Companies Promotion Commission. It was considered that the Government acted very wisely in appointing the commission to inquire into methods of company promotion and into the' number of issues of bonds and debentures sold to the public mainly by the method of door-to-door salesmanship.

It was noted with satisfaction that the Shareholders Act had received attention and was the subject of a recommendation for revision. From the length of the commission’s report it was apparent to the association that the commission had made a close study of all matters within its scope and had done a vast amount of very important and able work which merited the utmost commendation.
