286 MILES AIR RACE
MELBOURNE TO COOTAMUNDRA. PLACINGS NOT YET DECIDED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rpc. 8.15 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 19. At the air pageant at Cootamundra today the chief event was an air race from Melbourne to Cootamundra, 286 miles, for which there were six starters, including the Stodarts, who competed in the centenary air race. All the competitors had reached their destination, but the winners will not be announced until the times have been officially checked. The first prize in the speed section is £l5O. The first to arrive was H. J. Broadbent, flying a D.H. Mqth. He left Melbourne at 11.7 a.m. and arrived at Cootamundra at 1.39. The remaining five arrived at brief intervals thereafter as follows: G. Goon, C. Butler, SquadronLeader Stodart, K. Farmer and J. Cook.
