AMBULANCE WORK

PRESENTATIONS AT WAITARA. CERTIFICATES AND MEDALLION. Members of the Waitara St. John ambulance class assembled in the Soldiers and Civilians’ Club on Tuesday night and received their certificates gained in the recent examination. Besides Drs. C. P. Adamson and R. L. Barclay, there was also present Mr. R. A. Wall, superintendent of the New Plymouth division. Dr. Adamson paid a large amount of work all over the world was being done by the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and he was glad to know that at Waitara satisfactory results were evident. He called on the successful candidates, presenting certificates to Misses P. Brough, D. Thatcher, H. Hingley, T. Goord, Messrs. Les O’Donnell, G. Jupp, G. Foreman, E. Smith, E. Reynolds, H. St. George and F. Lucas. Dr. Barclay commended the enthusiasm of the winners and said he trusted they would all go further. Mr. Wall stressed the value _of the services rendered by Mr. I. Faigan on the football field. He also said he saw no reason why a division should not be established at Waitara, and he recommended that such should be an objective. He presented Mr. Faigan with his service medallion. Mr. Faigan in accepting the medallion said several young men apd women were eager to become members. He thanked Drs. Adamson and Barclay for the interest they had taken in the cause. After the presentation a dance was held, the music being supplied by Messrs. L. O’Donnell and V. Reynolds.
