RAIN DEVELOPING IN SOUTH. By Telegraph—Presf Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather is expected to be fine at first and rather cool, but warmer tomorrow, states the 4 p.m. forecast. Ram is developing on the west coast of the South Island and in the far south. Pressure is still rather high over New Zealand but a low pressure trough has just passed from Australia on to the Tasman. Winds will be light to moderate and variable, but northerlies should gradually prevail and freshen in and south of Cook Strait. Seas will be smooth to moderate but rising later in Cook and Foveaux Straits.
