BARLOW’S CREW WINS IN FINAL. NEW PLYMOUTH CREW’S EVENTS. The New Plymouth Rowing Club’s Hoffman Cun race was decided on Monday. The final on Saturday resulted in a draw. F. Barlow (str.), H. Billing (3), M. Keenan (2), J. Durdle (bow) defeated N. Frewin (str.), S. Billing (3), C. Gaylard (2), R. Rosser (bow). Barlow’s crew drew away at the start and by the time three-quarters of a mile had been rowed were nearly ® length away. In the latter stages Frewin’s crew spurted but could not quite catch the leading boat, Barlow’s crew getting home by a canvas. The race was rowed from the end of the Breakwater, a longer course than on Saturday.
