SCATTERED RAIN PREDICTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly cloudy to overcast with scattered rain in most districts, according to the 4 p.m. forecast. Temperatures are becoming cooler. Winds will be northerly north of New Plymouth and Napier and elsewhere north-westerly to westerly, backing to southerly generally within the next 24 hours. They will be moderate mainly but strong in a few exposed positions. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rather rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate. In the eastern Tasman there will be northly winds at first in the northern portion, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly to southerly winds will prevail. Seas will vary between moderate to rather rough. Pressure has remained high to the eastward. A depression has been advancing very slowly across the Tasman Sea and is losing its intensity.
