SCHOOLBOY’S FINE JUMP.—S. Baker, of the West Christchurch District High School, setting a new record of 21ft sin for the annual championship meeting of the secondary schools in Christchurch. It is an unusually fine jump for a schoolboy. Adult athletes in New Zealand have done better often enough, but there have been many years in which a shorter jump than Baker’s has won a New Zealand amateur championship.
