The monthly meeting of the Stratford Plunket Society was held at Toko on Wednesday. There were present Mesdames R. Masters (in the chair), McCullough, Wynyard, N. H. Moss, A. E. Moss, Allen, Bishop, Fredric, Creswell, Martin, Cuthbert, Hine, H. Milne, Fetch, L. Milne, Needham, Murphy, G. Were, Platt, Urwin and Miss C. Milne. - The Plunket nurse reported as follows for October: Children under five years still under supervision, 180; visits to homes, Stratford 90, Eltham 30, visits to rooms, adults 204, babies 180, children 40; new cases for month, Stratford 13, Eltham 11. Mrs. Bishop was appointed to arrange the flowers at the Plunket rooms for the month. A request was received from the Stewart Karitane Home, Wanganui, that members of the branch should aid the finances of the home by selling tickets in an alluvial gold art union promoted for that purpose. While it fully realised their obligation to support the home, which served the districts, the Stratford committee felt that it could not approach .the public at this juncture for the purpose and it was therefore decided to send the society’s annual donation of £5 to the home without delay, rather than sell tickets. At the request of Nurse Mason it was decided to have the rooms thoroughly cleaned, and to have extra shelves built in the store-room when the cheapest method of doing so had been decided upon. The competition for the cannister of chocolates was won by Mrs. J. Von Sturmer.

Lilting music, catchy songs, and clever dancing presented in the lavishly spectacular settings of “Aunt Sally” are crowned by the inimitable comedy of Cicely Courtneidge in a role that ranges from burlesque to knock-about, giving her abundant scope to exercise her genius for characterisation. ‘‘Aunt Sally,” the most ambitious musical extravaganza ever recorded by British studio cameras, will be shown at the Eltham theatre to-night and Monday night. This scintillating show is full of special features and among the artists engaged are the world-known Carlisle Cousins, Reilly and Comfort, a duo that is the rage of London cabaret life. The Three Admirals, famous from Dublin to Petrograd, and the equally famous Leslie Holmes. The cabaret scenes are as magnificent as they are gigantic. Beautiful girls and magnificent frocking are the features of the production, and there are elaborate settings, and lighting effects.
