In its first innings Manaia made 97, Duncan 26, Lord 22 and R. Duncan 17. Pritchard, five for 15, took most wickets, Rogers and Oliver securing two each. Hawera failed early, having three wickets down for five runs. Worrall (9)' assisted to raise the total to 14, but the remaining six wickets realised only 10 runs. Thomas, Nelson and Kitt each took three wickets for low averages. Hawera s second innings realised 75 (Pritchard 22, Campbell 19. A Gray 14)'. Davies. Kitt and Rothery took two wickets each. At the close of play Manaia in its second innings had scored' 45 runs for two wickets.
