FRASER ROAD HALL
SUBSCRIBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING. HOPE TO PAY OFF INDEBTEDNESS. There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of subscribers to the Fraser Road hall on Tuesday. The president (Mr. A. Campbell), reported that members of the committee had worked harmoniously. The condition of tlie hall after two years was a fine testimonial to, the care bestowed on it by the committee and those who used it. The receipts amounted to £BO 14s 3d and the expenditure (including three half-yearly payments of bank interest) to £43 12s xOd. A piano costing £4O had been purchased. The total indebtedness of tlie hall committee was £144. 9s lid. The chairman expressed the opinion that,
granted normal conditions, the indebtedness should be paid off within three years. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. A. Campbell; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. L. Jennings; committeei Messrs. S. Death, R. Scown, E. Gibson, J. Moller, A. Sharpe and A. Treweek (re-elected). Votes of thanks to the women’s com-? mittee and the hall committee were car T ried. General Items. Mr. J- Henry, inspector, visited the Fraser Road school on Wednesday. The grounds' are looking very neat. When the school committee carries out the improvements it has in view, the grounds should be equal to those of most other country schools. The exceptionally warm rains and absence of heavy winds is causing an abnormal rate of growth in the pastures. The quantity of milk supplied to the factory will probably exceed that of last year, which was a record,
