FRUIT AND TOMATOES THROWN. GLASGOW' UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. London, Oct. 16. Eggs, fruit and tomatoes were hurled at Mr. W. E. Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, when he visited the Glasgow University Union, accompanied by his wife. Most missed him but a tomato burst over his head, an egg broke over his coat and water squirted by the students in the galleries poured over him. Mrs. Elliot was struck by a tomato aimed at her husband and dashed with the other women from the platform. Mr. Elliot pleaded for quiet and succeeded in making a speech. .
