MOKAU PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs. E. L. Black and Mrs. H. Gray have returned from a short motor tour. Mrs. E. Bell has returned from a short holiday at Napier. Mrs. Brunton, Wellington, is the guest of .her daughter, Mrs. F. Northern, Mokau. Mrs. J. Beattie has left Mokau to live at Mahoenui. Mrs. Johnson, New Plymouth, is spending a short holiday with her sister Mrs. G. Scott. Miss R. Robertson who has been visiting Mokau, has returned to Waitara. v WOMEN’S DIVISION Mokau-Awakino: The monthly meeting was held in the Mokau hall on October 9, when the president (Mrs. W. D. Bla.k) presided over a fair attendance. A competition for the best worked sugar-bag was won by Mrs. J. Scott. Mok ’, who entered a cu_—on worked L. coloured wools. Arrangements were made to purchase a parcel of goods from the disabled soldiers’ reestablishment committee for sale at the next meeting. The competition, for next month will be for a decorated bowl and vase of flowers. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. Inglewood: Miss M. Lindsay presided over an attendance of 14 at the meeting of the junior branch of the Inglewood Women’s Institute on Monday. Three new members, Misses Doris’ Goy, Ha Heel and Mary McLean were welcomed. An interesting demonstration of paper mache work was given by Mrs. Porter. Finished articles of this work were displayed. • MOTHERS’ STALL FOR BABY DAY. Shoppers in Devon Street, New Plymouth, on Friday of next week, Baby Day, will be delighted at the assortment of articles that will be displayed for sale on the mothers’ stall. Through the courtesy of Mr. Eliot King permission has been given .the Plunket Society to use the entrance to King’s buildings for the stall, and babies’ woollies, children’s clothing, toys, fancy goods, and novelties of all kinds will be there in abundance. This stall has developed greatly in the last two or three years, for all mothers under the care of the Plunket nurses have worked to provide the articles for ! t, thus doing their share in helping the society, besides showing their appreciation of the interest, sympathy and valued helii of the Plunket nurses.
