IMPROVEMENT ANTICIPATED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Cloudy to overcast weather over the North Island with scattered light rain is predicted with a gradual improvement. Elsewhere the weather will be fair. Temperatures will be cool to moderate. Light to moderate and variable winds with northerlies predominating are expected. They will freshen gradually in and south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters will be smooth to moderate but rising to-morrow about Cook and Foveaux Straits. In the eastern Tasman freshening northerly winds are forecast with smooth to moderate but rising seas. Pressure high over most of the Tasman Sea and the New Zealand area, the highest reading being at the Chatham Islands. In the north/ however, it is relatively low.
