THE RACES POSTPONED EFFECTS OF HEAVIER TRACK. TO-DAY'S PROSPECTS REVIEWED.

(By Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. Heavy rain overnight and this morning caused a postponement of the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s meeting until to-morrow, the occasion being the.first on which a postponement has been made at Ellerslie since the third day of the winter meeting in June, 1924. The rain ceasec before midday, and the afternoon has been fine, although the weather is still dull and threatening. Tf there is no more rain the going may not be really heavy to-morrow, although it will be much slower than on Saturday, when Gay Blonde equalled the race record time of Im. 37 3-ss. for the Great Northern Guineas. The change in the going may cause some, upsets in form, and most of the races are very open. Horses who may be well supported are:— Normanby Handicap: Gipsy Moth, Canopy, King Brierly. Manukau Hurdles: Free Air, Catoma, Emancipation. Epsom Handicap: British Columbia, Gay Seton, Tradesman. King Edward Memorial Handicap: Korokio, Baroscope, Versant.
