SCHOOL DISPLAY PLAN

DIFFICULTY OF HOLIDAYS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A statement that preliminary arrangements were in hand for holding a children’s demonstration in Auckland on the occasion of the visit of the Duke of Gloucester was made by the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board last week. The board decided that as the Duke’s visit coincided with the school holidays it would unfortunately be unable to arrange satisfactorily for a children’s demonstration in co-operation with the schools. Commenting on the Mayor’s intention of arranging for the display a number of educationists said it would be an excellent thing if it could be organised but they emphasised the difficulty owing to the school holidays.
