STUDENTS’ INTEREST

MR. HARRIS AND COMMUNISM. WAS NEVER SECRETARY OF PARTY By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The relatives of Mr. W. J. Harris referred to in a telegraph message as having been refused a passport to the United States, deny that he was a member of the Communist Party or that he acted as secretary to the party in Auckland as alleged. They state that his interest in Communism was that of a student, and that he would have been the last to favour bringing about any reform by violence.
