An extraordinary series of 19 punctures, all experienced in the few miles between Mahoenui and Piopio, resulted in a motor-truck taking over 24 'hours for a journey from New Plymouth to Auckland this week. The unfortunate driver after using the spares available was faced with a heavy task each time another tyre was punctured, and rain added to his difficulties. Finally the engine commenced to lose power, and the driver, thoroughly weary through loss of sleep and arduous work, reached Auckland almost exhausted. The offering includes bulls intensely bred to the famous Tiki’s Twylisn and .Hawkesbury strains, 12 yearling and two-year-old pedigree Jersey bulls from cows with C.O.R.’s up to 6901 b. fat, and also six bulls which are close descendants of Goodwood Rupert C. 8.8.
