On a ground which suited the visitors, the Australian hockey team drew with Auckland in a keenly contested game yesterday. Auckland was superior in the first half, establishing a 2-nil lead by half timp Australia recovered and shortly before time was leading 3-2, and Auckland scored on the whistle. Auckland’s goals in the first spell came from E. Watts and Robertson scoring in quick succession. Australia replied with spasmodic attackswhich failed through lack of combination. Milner scored for Australia early in the second half, and after a sustained attack Rothwell ran in following a penalty, corner.
