Colonel S. J. E. Closey, chairman of the national executive of the Douglas Social Credit movement, will be addressing public meetings in New Plymouth and district during the coming week. Colonel Closey is a recognised authority on social credit, and was called to give evidence before the Monetary Commission. Members of the Taranaki Justices of the Peace Association and their wives are requested to attend a social to be held at the Devon Tea Rooms on Tuesday.* After a successful season the Eltham Troop of the Legion of Frontiersmen will hold a wind-up dance at the Ngaere Hall on Tuesday. With first-class catering and music supplied by Vinsen’s Ambassadors a most enjoyable evening is assured all who attend.*
