GOLFING WORLD ASTONISHED
GREAT PERFORMANCE BY A GIRL.
HER PERFECT STYLE A MYSTERY.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8.40 p.m. London, Sept. 13. A little 13-year-olc Scot, Miss Nancy Jupp, astonished the golfing world by reaching the final of the girls’ championship at Stoke Poges in her first attempt and beating en route competitors four to five years older whom she consistently outdrove. She made one drive of 280 yards. She is a stylish player with a model swing and hits with deadly accuracy. She began playing when six years old. How she achieved such perfection is a mystery, as she had only a few lessons and had not even a handicap. She will play the final against the 18-year-old Miss Joan Mountford, an experienced player from the North Foreland Club, a nursery of famous players, including Miss Diana Fishwick.
