Joseph Hansom gave his name to a vehicle. Bom in New York in 1803, he designed Birmingham town hall, but it is not in connection with architecture that he became famous. He turned his attention to the improvement of vehicles, and in 1843 designed the hansom cab. The Kremlin, the central building of Moscow, covers a plateau of about 100 acres. It contains the old Palace of the Czars, two cathedrals, the immense Palace of Arms, and the Arsenal.
