£12,000 PRIZE TO DUNEDIN
HOBART CONSULTATION DRAWN.
“HOPEFUL SYNDICATE” WINS.

Auckland, Last Night.
New Zealand subscribers won the first and third prizes in a £12,000 consultation sweepstake drawn on Wednesday at Hobart, Tasmania, under Government supervision, according to private advice received at Auckland. The ticket which won the first prize of £12,000 was No. 29060, held in the name of “Hopeful syndicate,” care of A.W.H., Roslyn, Dunedin. The ticket was held by two Dunedin men, Messrs. A. W. Henderson and A. Cranshaw, employees of the Otago Harbour Board. The “Hopeful Syndicate,” under which name they have been sending for tickets, was commenced six months ago, the decision being made on the day of the harbour "board picnic last March. The winner of the third prize of £1250 was “G.T.,” of Freeman’s Bay, Auckland, whose, ticket was No. 100,078.
