There was a good attendance of cricketers and friends from Patea, Alton, Mokoia, Hawera and surrounding districts. The cup was originally presented to the Mokoia Cricket Club by Mr. J. Mr. Goodwin congratulated Manutahi on its win, and said he knew it would be first to congratulate any team to take the cup away from Manutahi. He handed the trophy to Mr. Cliff Wills, Manutahi captain. Mr. Wills returned thanks, and said he hoped the competition would be close next year.
