TWO OF FOUR SEMI-FINALISTS.

Semi-finalists in the United States men’s singles tennis championship are F. J. Perry (England, title-holder), V. Kirby (South Africa), W. Allison (U.S.A.) and S. B. Wood (U.S.A.). Perry will play Kirby and Allison will play Wood. Kirby created an upset by defeating F. X. Shields (U.S.A.), a top ranker who was seeded.
The quarter finals resulted: Perry beat C. Sutter (New Orleans), 6—3, 6—o, 6—2; Kirby beat Shields’ 4 —6, 6—4, 6—4, 6—3; Allison beat Stoeffen (U.S.A.) B—6, 4-6, 11—9, 6-8, 6-2; Wood beat F. Parker (U.S.A.), 6-4, 6—4, 7—5.
