WAITARA PLUNKET WORK
MONTHLY MEETING OF SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the Waitara branch of the Plunket Society was held last week. Mrs. W. B. Glasgow presided and others present were Mesdames G. P. Fuller, W. V. More, E. W. Waters, H. J. Wells, T. Hine, W. Trim, H. M. Madsen and P. Appleby (secretary). The nurse’s report for July was: Number of babies on books, old 67, new 8; visits paid to rooms, adults 41, babies 37, older children 7; domestic hygiene, 3; older children under supervision, 42; visits paid to Waitara, 4. The August report was: Number of babies on books, old 65, new 4; visits paid to homes, old 36, new 6, visits to office, adults 42, babies 43; domestic hygiene, 5; 'visits paid to older children, 9; older children under supervision, 41; casual babies to rooms, 1; visits to Waitara, 5. It Was decided ta purchase an electric kettle instead of a heater and jug. Mrs. C. Brown tendered her resignation, which was accepted, the committee recording its appreciation of the valuable assistance rendered b’ Mrs. Brown. At the conclusion of the meeting Mrs. W. C. Weston, president of the New Plymouth branch, gave a talk upon the recent Plunket conference at Wellington. Mrs. Ewart, New Plymouth, also spoke.
