“DOWN WITH BLACK SHIRTS”

SHOUT INTO A MICROPHONE. INCIDENT IN RESTAURANT. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. London, Sept. 7. Imitating the false broadcast that caused the panic in Austria on the day Dr. Dollfuss was killed, a man passing a microphone in a London restaurant while a dance band was playing shouted: “Demonstrate against Fascism next Sunday; down with Mosley and his Black Shirt cut-throats.” This reference to the Fascist demonstration planned for Hyde Park on Sunday was heard by listeners throughout the country. There was a similar incident in another dance hall the previous night. An official of the British Broadcasting Corporation says that organisers of dance and other broadcast gatherings had been warned recently of the necessity of safeguarding microphones.
