Encouraged by the goodwill displayed both by the New Zealand and Australian Governments and in view of their declaration of their attitude towards the need for protecting the local shipping industry, the Union Steamship Company intends Without delay to call for tenders in Great Britain for the construction of a fast trans-Tasman steamer that will excel foreign competitive vessels in service and speed.
