LANCASHIRE THE CHAMPION TEAM YORKSHIRE BACK TO SIXTH PLACE. . • ' •' i Lancashire has won the English county cricket championship, with Sussex in second place, Derbyshire (1874 champion) third, 'and Warwickshire (1911 champion) fourth. Sussex, which has never won the championship since its institution in 1873, w>as also runner-up in 1932 and 1933, when Yorkshire was on top both years. Lancashire was champion in 1926-27-28-30, previous to which it had not been conspicuous since ■ 1904. Surrey won in the war years, Yorkshire in 1919- Middlesex in 1920- and Notts in. 1929. .Lancashire’s' supremacy a few years ago was chiefly due to the splendid bowling of E.
