HURFORD ROAD NOTES
EUCHRE SERIES PRIZE-WINNERS. The fourth and final night of a seriesof euchre parties was held in the Hurford Road hall on Thursday. The winners of the euchre tournament were Mrs. S. Jury and Mr. J. Ryan. In the aggregate the winners were: Ladies, Mrs. S'. Jury 1, Mrs. R. Spence 2; men, Messrs. T. Alsop and M. Rea tied. Music for the dance which followed was supplied by Messrs. M. and I. Rea, and Mr. T. Alsop played an extra. Mr. J. Donald was master of ceremonies.
A well-attended meeting for the purpose of forming a tennis club was held recently. Mr. E. Williams was elected chairman and Mr. T. Ryan secretary. A committee, consisting of Messrs. I. and M. Rea and D. Lynch and the chairman, was lected jo make further inquiries into the cost, etc. The following social committee was elected: Misses L. Moloney junr., B. Thomas, I. Williams, D. Green and H. Reilly. The Omata basketball team beat Hurford Road by 15 goals to 8 at Hurford Road.
